The Major Problem of Institutionalized Religion

Tunnel vision. Institutionalized Religion creates tunnel vision. Is it all bad? Of course not. But it does not make sense for a Religion to promote love and the end of suffering when it causes people to suffer because it cannot explain everything.

People are scared of the abyss, of the unknown, and so they cling onto beliefs and ideas that make them feel safe. I probably do this too, but I try to have an open mind when encountering new ideas, I try to keep an open mind when I encounter anything new.

I think when we stop learning, when we stop reading, when we stop exploring, that is when we can find ourselves in trouble. Life is change, and if we do not change with it, things will go awry.

I am happy for people who have found deeper meaning in life, I think I am arriving there slowly but in a direction different from institutionalized religion. The arts, writing, music, singing, and dancing have always been attractive to me and I think it is the only way that I will be able to heal. It is the only way that I will be able to express myself.

Cutting off ties with the people that you once thought would be there for you is hard. But it is necessary in order for change to occur. It is necessary in order to be free. It is not good for one to be surrounded by others that do not trust and support you. If people aren’t discussing various aspects of life and existence, nothing is getting done. We are human and our job is to seek to understand. And once we give up this, we start to die. We start to lose touch with reality. We get tunnel vision.
